Yalikavak.. great views, windmills and cool breezes
Yalikavak
is located 18 kms west of Bodrum. According to experts, the
history of Yalikavak
goes back as early as 2000 BC. There was a Lelegian settlement
in this region. Today,
rock-cut tombs can be seen on the hills above Yalikavak. Famous
sponge divers of the
region actually came from Yalikavak.
Yalikavak
has a nice harbour and beautiful little bays like Kudur and
Tilkicik Bay. With the
opening of a marina, in recent years Yalikavak has become a
very popular resort in itself.
