Mumcular.. traditional and peaceful

Mumcular is 29 kms from Bodrum and is a traditional village with 2000 residents.
There are beautiful pine forests on the hills and olive trees almost everwhere. It has
a very laid back and authentic atmosphere.

The villagers' main income is based on growing olives, tobacco and
also carpet weaving. In traditional carpet weaving, natural dyes are used to obtain
colors and the dominant color used in the region is pastel yellow and its' tones.
The dyes are obtained from tobacco plants grown locally.

It would be very interesting to watch carpet weaving, taste local food in the village
center and enjoy a Turkish tea or coffee afterwards. Mumcular is 40 minutes away
f rom Bodrum center by minibuses ( dolmus ).
