Traditionally colors are extracted from vegetable and plant dyes. Among the best known production centers are Hereke, Istanbul, Yahyali, Milas, Kayseri, Sivas and Isparta.
Milas is one of the important carpet weaving centres of Turkey. In almost every village in
the region, there are weavers producing local carpets.

In Bodrum, there are many carpet shops where you can bargain. It is also worthwhile
joining one of these oganized trips to a nearby village to see carpets being made and
meet the local weavers..
